YOKO ONO: GROWING FREEDOM
An Exhibition to Celebrates Yoko Ono & John Lennon
The exhibition Yoko Ono: Growing Freedom, presented at the Fondation Phi pour l'art contemporain from April 25 to September 15, 2019, highlights the cornerstones of Yoko Ono's work: action, participation and imagination, as well as the artistic work of John Lennon and Yoko Ono for peace. Our challenge: create an immersive experience that offers engaging content, while highlighting this emblematic couple and their achievements.
For this project, we started with an in-depth research phase of archives and content which then led to their rights acquisition. Moreover, we designed a custom-made interactive archive cabinet, listening benches with integrated audio system and display cases for vinyl.
Our approach for the design of this exhibition has allowed us to enhance the archives and cultural heritage of John Lennon and Yoko Ono while offering a unique and immersive interactive experience. With a limited space and a multitude of content to present, the MASSIVart team found creative solutions to highlight audio and visual content, creating a minimalist and contemporary scenography with a strong impact.
L’exposition Yoko Ono : Liberté Conquérante, présentée à la Fondation Phi pour l’art contemporain du 25 avril au 15 septembre 2019, met en valeur les pierres angulaires de l’œuvre de Yoko Ono qui sont l’action, la participation et l’imagination, ainsi que son travail artistique avec John Lennon en faveur de la paix. Notre défi : créer une expérience immersive offrant un contenu engageant mettant en valeur ce couple emblématique.
Pour ce projet, nous avons débuté par une phase de recherche approfondie d’archives ainsi que des démarches d'acquisition de droits d'utilisation de ceux-ci. Ensuite, nous avons conçu sur mesure un meuble d’archives interactif, des bancs d’écoute avec système audio intégré ainsi que des vitrines de présentation pour vinyles.
Notre approche pour le design de cette exposition nous a permis de valoriser le patrimoine culturel de John Lennon et Yoko Ono tout en offrant une expérience interactive unique et immersive. Avec un espace restreint et une multitude de contenus à présenter, nous avons su trouver des solutions créatives pour les mettre en valeur en créant une scénographie minimaliste et contemporaine impactante.
